Dear Old Victorian,
The October Reunion was held on Wednesday the 16th in the Babylon Ballroom of the Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel Cairo and was only attended by 19 members.
Before launching our website, Aly Saleh (VCC 1959) Treasurer of the Association, said the following:-
I would like to welcome my colleagues to our first Reunion after the Summer Holidays.
The main attraction of the evening is the Association’s new website, but before going through it with Doaa I would like to discuss a few things with you.
When the Association was first formed its main aim was to keep us Old Victorians in touch with each other to keep the Old Victorian’s spirit alive and to have a positive role in society. The Association took off with a great bang having plenty of events, activities and monthly Reunions. Unfortunately, lately it has only been holding monthly Reunions.
The Executive committee and Board held a number of meetings during the Holidays with the aim of finding ways to revive the Association’s events and increase the activities. .
As announced monthly excursions are planned to take place starting with a visit to the New Administrative Capital on Saturday the 26th of October. These excursions will be announced during the regular monthly Reunions.
More over the Association with the help of its great loyal members would like very much to sponsor a cause or do something useful to society.
As treasurer I would like to inform you that the yearly membership fees we collect from you plus the donations we receive from our generous Old Victorian sponsors do not presently bridge the gap between our Income and Expenses. Consequently, the Board found that the best way to solve this problem is to ask all willing members for an annual voluntary donation to be paid on top of the yearly membership fees instead of going through the official long and tiresome procedure of raising the membership fees starting next year.
A delicious dinner was served 9:00 p.m. with the Reunion ending at 10:00 with all looking forward to the next Reunion which is scheduled for November the 6th. Please keep that date free and make an effort to attend.
